Discover your subpersonalities - Our Inner World and the People In It
John Rowan
Routledge 1993 ISBN 0-415-07366-9

Inside us we have parts of ourselves which in some ways have a life of their own. We become aware of them when they pop out and take over. We find ourselves saying "Yes" when we mean to say "No". We torture ourselves over the jobs we have not done, or have not done well enough. We argue with ourselves as to whether to get out of bed or not. We eat things we know are bad for us. It is possible to treat each of these as a person. Some of them may help us, some may hinder us. If we want to be in charge of our own inner world, we had better find out who they are and what they do. This is a self-help book with many exercises to try out and questionnaires to complete.
